The Feeling of Family
The Family Care Program has provided a safe haven for single mothers and their children since 1979. It’s a place where mothers and their children can heal from their past and transition into successful, independent futures. But most importantly, the family stays together.
In residential program houses up to 5 families in each cottage with group settings with resident staff supervision and role modeling of appropriate living skills. Mothers are able to take advantage of a healthy environment that is conducive to growth for the individual and family unit as the mother works toward self-sufficiency. Residents are provided with a Family Care Treatment Coordinator who offers individual and group counseling for family care clients, their children, and others in the community. For more information about counseling, please contact Suzanne Wood (LPC Intern, Supervised by Betty Lou Mitchell, LPC-S) or call 512-246-4233.
